Digital Radiography

Smithers Animal Hospital provides the latest veterinary diagnostic technology available, including digital radiography. Digital radiography allows us to examine interior organs and assess the status of injuries or diseases that may be present. It is extremely beneficial in helping our veterinarian diagnose fractures, determine the size and location of tumors or foreign objects that your pet may have swallowed, measure organ size to detect disease, diagnose pneumonia, discover pregnancies, bladder stones, chronic arthritis, and more.

Digital radiography is painless, safe, and non-invasive. It provides clear images of the area of concern quickly and without having numerous retakes which means accurate and efficient patient assessments. It also uses very low doses of radiation making it safe enough for pregnant females and young pets.

Digital radiography differs from traditional x-rays in that images can be visually enhanced, magnified, and digitally shared with specialists, if needed, to help us speed and focus treatment plans for your pets. We can also share files with the Animal Emergency Clinic of Northwest Arkansas should your pet need after hours emergency care.

Serving pet owners in West Fork, Fayetteville, Elkins, Farmington, and beyond, our veterinarian at Smithers Animal Hospital can diagnose your pet’s condition using digital radiography and other diagnostic tools we have available in house.
