Dr. Smithers also firmly believes in giving back to the community. Since 2017, he has worked closely with the Lester C. Howick Animal Shelter to help with animal population control and reduce the number of unwanted and abandoned pets. Each year, Dr. Smithers spays and neuters more than 300 dogs and cats.

Our History

Smithers Animal Hospital was established in West Fork, Arkansas, on May 6, 2017 by Dr. Bridger O’Keefe Smithers. He purchased the existing practice of Noah’s Ark Veterinary Services from a local retiring veterinarian. Dr. Smithers is a Texan by birth but has generational roots in central Arkansas. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation, he worked for a large mixed animal practice in northeast Texas for a couple of years before relocating to northwest Arkansas.
