Boarding

Many pet owners struggle to find a boarding facility that they can trust to watch their pets while out of town. At Smithers Animal Hospital, we offer limited boarding for those pet parents who prefer to have veterinary supervision during their stay.

Canine

Each pet is kenneled in a size appropriate run or kennel and housemates can stay together upon request! Each pet is fed according to their normal routine (free fed, once or twice daily). We take several trips outside in our enclosed yard for potty time and enrichment during each day. Please bring any of your pets routine medications, food and instructions with you, they will be given as instructed.

Feline

Each pet is housed in a kitty condo and housemates can stay together upon request. Each condo is complete with a perch and a hidey hole for those that prefer a bit more privacy. Please bring any of your pets routine medications, food and instructions with you, they will be given as instructed.

We provide bedding, enrichment toys and EN (gastrointestinal) blend food. While not required, we do allow food, a blanket or bed and toys from home to make the stay a bit more comfortable.*

Core vaccinations are required to be up to date prior to boarding or will be administered at the time of drop off. If your pet is not healthy enough and has been medically cleared then no vaccinations are required. We do not board kittens or puppies without full vaccinations unless prior arrangements have been made and veterinarian approved.

Canine - da2lpp, rabies and bordetella vaccines

Feline - FVRCP, FeLv, rabies vaccines

Heartworm, flea and tick prevention is not required but heavily suggested.

If you live in the West Fork area and you need boarding services that you can trust, give us a call for more information, or come by and check us out. We recommend making reservations in advance, especially during the holidays and peak vacation times.
