In-Clinic Diagnostics

When your pet is sick, it is important to gather as much information as possible about their current health condition that may not be apparent after the physical exam. For this reason, we offer a variety of in house diagnostics so that we can quickly assess your pets condition.

Bloodwork

We offer a variety of blood testing to help narrow down what is ailing your pet. A common starting place is to run a CBC and Chemistry panel. These tests will let us know if your pet is experiencing a systemic infection, anemia, liver or kidney damage, diabetes and much more. We also offer specialized testing for specific disease processes like thyroid disease and Cushing’s disease.

Radiography

We are able to perform and interpret digital radiographs in house. Radiographs can provide insight regarding your pets internal organs like the heart, GI tract and the bones. Digital radiography is painless, safe, and non-invasive. It provides clear images of the area of concern quickly which means accurate and efficient patient assessments.

Ultrasound

Utilizing our state of the art ultrasound, we can monitor size, shape and function of the internal organs. Ultrasound technology is becoming increasingly important at properly diagnosing, treating and monitoring a variety of ailments your pet could experience.

Serving pet owners in West Fork, Fayetteville, Elkins, Farmington, and beyond, our veterinarian at Smithers Animal Hospital can diagnose your pet’s condition using digital radiography and other diagnostic tools we have available in house.
